This brief highlights latest global and local evidence on Obstetric violence, informed and shared decision making, respectful and patient-centered care in SRHR, reflects the narratives of mothers and maternal health workers and offers tiered recommendations to improve RMC and PCC policy and practice in Egypt. The paper aims to introduce the concept of Shared Decision Making, explore various barriers to its implementation locally through the perspectives of providers and patients, and finally offer recommendations to policymakers, health providers, and patients to improve Respectful Maternal Care.
