About the Co-Creation Conference

Share-Net Bangladesh and Share-Net International hosted their second bi-annual Co-Creation Conference, “Engaging in Knowledge Translation Together” from 25th to 28th of January and the 3rd of February 2021. This year the conference was completely online giving people all around the world the opportunity to join. Fifty participants engaged in co-creation sessions on different topics that are key to SRHR for Adolescents and Youth to create knowledge products that can be used to influence policy and practice at the national, regional, and global levels.

What’s gender got to do with it?

Speaker: Ana Aguilera
Deputy Director, AYSRHR, Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion team at Engender Health
Ana leads EngenderHealth’s AYSRHR global portfolio and supports the integration of gender, youth and social inclusion into everything EngenderHealth does. A youth leader and advocate, Ana strives to ensure that EngenderHealth implements high-quality sexual and reproductive health programming and meaningfully engages with adolescents and youth across the organization’s programs, structures, and processes.

The power of young people in the fight for SRHR and against HIV

Speaker: Jean Paul Gentil Uwase
Founder member, RNJ+, National Network of Young People Living with HIV
Gentil is one of the founding members of the RNJ+. He was the legal representative of the RNJ+ from 2005 to 2014. Since 2015, he has been working as a hearth service provider for young people and adolescents (SRSH, STI and HIV) at the RNJ+ “ Juste Saint Rachel” Holistic Center.

Period Power: A Story from Indonesia

Speaker: Tungga Dewi
Co-Founder & CEO of Perfect Fit Indonesia.
Tungga believes that all women need to have a more dignified life, free from stigma and inequality, including in their menstruation and sexual reproductive health and rights. She co-founded the Perfect Fit after saw many women in Indonesia still have the same challenges as she had for many years; lack of comprehensive sexuality education, counselling support, and access to eco-friendly products. The Perfect Fit existed to fill those gaps in Indonesia. Tungga has a bachelor degree in Economics from Universitas Indonesia. She enjoys having dark chocolate, especially during her period!

Experiences with Youth-Friendly Health Services

Speaker: Umme Habiba
Youth Organiser and Chairperson of UBR (Unite for Body Rights program) Youth Forum Chattagram, PSTC
Umme Habiba is from Chattogram, Bangladesh. She is studying Economics in University of Chittagong. She worked as an youth organiser and chairperson of UBR ( Unite for Body Rights program) Youth Forum Chattagram, PSTC for almost 10 years (December 2011-December 2020). Besides, She attended in several conferences as a representative of UBR program occurred
in different countries. She also attended in Share-Net Bangladesh Knowledge Fair 2019 programme.

The importance of intersectional approaches to SRHR programming

Speaker: Lisa de Pagter (she/her)
Youth Ambassador for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender Equality and Bodily Autonomy @ Ministry of Foreign Affairs & CHOICE
Avid advocate for young people’s meaningful participation, gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights and sustainable development with demonstrable experience in (inter)governmental relations and civil society. Interested in the Women, Peace and Security agenda and the intersection between SRHR and humanitarian aid. Currently working as special independent policy advisor for SRHR, gender equality, bodily autonomy and meaningful youth participation at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ensuring that the lived realities of the world’s young people are reflected in Dutch foreign policy.
