On February 28, 2025, the Center for Intimacy Justice released the most comprehensive publicly available investigation to date on Big Tech’s suppression of sexual and reproductive health information for women and people of diverse genders. They analyzed 146 survey responses and 21 qualitative interviews–for a total of 159 nonprofit organizations, content creators/sex educators, and businesses– that serve users in 180+ countries. They studied these respondents’ experiences attempting to share sexual and reproductive health information on Meta, Google, Amazon and Tik Tok. Starting Friday, February 28, join then in sharing this report and calling for change when it comes to digital suppression of sexual and reproductive health information.

Menopause, menstrual cups, vulva, endometriosis, abortion, and UTI aren’t bad words… So why are these topics censored by Meta, TikTok, Google, and Amazon? From account suspensions to content removal, Meta, Amazon, TikTok, and Google are suppressing content on sexual and reproductive health for women and people of diverse genders.

“Censorship has impacted our ability to reach a wider audience on social media, which is preventing people from receiving potentially life saving sexual health information. We believe that every person deserves access to the information they need to maintain their sexual and reproductive health – from information about self-screening for breast cancer to having safe and pleasurable sex during menopause. When we block information supporting women and people of underrepresented genders online, we are encouraging stigma, bias, and discrimination offline. Big Tech can’t block us now.
