Do you have a story to share about your journey with Share-Net?

We invite contributions from our members, partners, and grantees to highlight significant stories of change demonstrate demonstrating how Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) knowledge has been utilised to enhance advocacy and policy changes, develop SRHR research, advocacy, partnerships, and knowledge sharing, and further the SRHR agenda, while also promoting personal and organisational benefits through its various activities – such as dedicated Communities of Practice, co-creation conferences, networking events, knowledge translation, and participatory grant-making funding.

Why this Open Call for Contributions?

In the face of growing conservative political trends across the globe, marked by the reintroduction of the Global Gag Rule in 2025 after the US elections, and significant cuts to Dutch development cooperation that have deeply impacted Share-Net’s future, it is more urgent than ever to keep SRHR at the forefront of the international agenda.

Through this open call, we want to speak directly to you. Share-Net has been a driving force in empowering our communities to progressively advance SRHR policies and practices. This progress would not have been possible without the active participation, commitment, and passion of each and every one of you. With these stories, we aim to showcase the collective impact of this vibrant community and highlight that Share-Net is a unique platform, one that strengthens our resilience and drives meaningful change.

Share-Net has been a pioneer in addressing and recognising the importance of key issues such as access to safe abortion, the impact of drug use on SRHR, sexual pleasure, and SRHR for the LGBTQIA+ community. At the same time, this platform has fostered meaningful connections that have truly inspired many of us.

We invite you to share your experience of our network, and the impact, change, or opportunity it gave you. To contribute, please complete the form below and submit your story to Share-Net. Throughout May and June, we will publish x1 member story per week on our social media channels and website. We intend to publish approximately 8-10 members stories in total. Submission of a story does guarantee publication, we will contact all successful storytellers by 14 May to inform them if their story will be published or not.
