CoP Overview and Introduction

Technology has played a significant role in enhancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights (SRH&RR) by providing access to accurate and reliable information, enabling remote consultations and telemedicine, and facilitating communication and collaboration among healthcare providers and community members. In recent years, the use of technology in SRH has grown rapidly. For example, the use of mobile health apps and online platforms has allowed individuals to access accurate and reliable information on a wide range of SRH topics, including contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and pregnancy. The Share-Net Jordan hub believes in using technology to access information and improve SRH&RR outcomes, for that, the hub established a Community of Practice (CoP) for SRH&RR in The Technology field. The CoP consists of 12 nursing students from The Aal al-Bayt University College of Nursing. The CoP brings together the technical and health aspects of SRH&RR. However, one of the challenges faced is that Aal Albait University is located in a different governorate, making it difficult for both parties to have face-to-face meetings. Despite this challenge, Share-Net Jordan and the CoP continue to use technology to share information and collaborate on projects related to SRH&RR. The CoP hopes to improve the SRH and RR outcomes by using technology to access information and increasing awareness and education about sexual and reproductive health, and empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

CoP Objectives:

1. To understand the role of technology as a way to access accurate and reliable information on a wide range of SRH topics, including contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and pregnancy and other related issues.
2. To improve SRH&RR outcomes by using technology to access information and increasing awareness and education about sexual and reproductive health to empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
3. To bring together the technical and health aspects of SRH&RR
4. To create knowledge products that contribute to the field of SRH&RR and technology. This may include research reports, advocacy materials, and educational resources that can be used by organizations and individuals working in this field.
