If you meet the above conditions and would like to be considered for the scholarship, please write “FWOS” in “scholarship” field on the online application.
You will have the opportunity to further evolve your thinking about human sexual development and its incorporation in your research by participating in a scheduled, outside of class, consultation session with the Academic Director, which is required for all FWOS recipients.
Application deadline: April 1, 2018 23:59 (CEST)
The mission of the FWOS is to stimulate innovative research on sexual development of youth in the Netherlands and especially, research that results in relevant interventions and new theoretical insights. The fund puts emphasis on diversity in the broadest sense of the word, as well as prioritizing intersectional approaches. By providing scholarships to local Summer Institute participants, the fund wishes to stimulate a new generation of (junior) researchers and the evolution of their expertise in this area. For more information about the mission and vision of FWOS, please visit the website: http://www.fwos.nl/subsidie/scholarships/.
If your home university is a member of the Universitas 21 Network and/or the LERU Network then you may be eligible for a tuition reduction scholarship of €500. You must be a current student at that university when you apply for the summer programme.
Students from Dutch universities on these lists are not eligible for these scholarships.
When making your application, please note in the “funding” field if you are applying for a LERU/U21 tuition reduction scholarship. The Summer Programmes Office GSSS will then be able to submit your application to the U21/LERU scholarship fund. The final decision on granting these scholarships is made by the UvA following the acceptance of the candidates into the summer programmes. The €500 scholarship will be deducted from your tuition.
The Amsterdam University Fund is offering partial scholarships valued at € 375 for students in the Graduate School of Social Sciences Summer Programmes. The scholarship will help cover the expenses for travel to and from the Netherlands. Applicants must have applied to one of our summer programmes and reside outside of the Netherlands.
If you meet the above conditions and would like to be considered for the scholarship, please write “AUF/AUV” in “scholarship” field on the online application, and write a one-page addendum to your motivation letter which states why you need the travel grant in order to participate in the summer programme. Priority will be given to UvA Alumni. The grant cannot be used in conjuncture with other scholarships (i.e. LERU/U21/GEP).
Application Deadline for AUF/AUV Travel Grant: 1 April 2018
Students may cancel their participation in a summer programme for a full refund, minus €250 administration fee (and potential housing costs), if the Summer Programmes Office staff is notified in writing (email is also valid) at least 30 days before the start of the programme (orientation/opening date). No refunds will be given after this date. If students know there is a chance they may have to cancel, we encourage them to contact us as soon as possible so that non-refundable items are not booked for them.
In the event that a programme must be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances or an insufficient number of students, students who have paid tuition and housing fees will be reimbursed in full. If applicable, students will be offered a spot in another programme, if a similar programme is available.
The tuition fee includes:
The tuition fee does not include travel to and from Amsterdam nor housing.
