Antonio Timbana is an Independent Consultant working with CSOs oriented for Health programs especially SRHR doing several interventions including organizational capacity assessment and capacity building for local organizations.
Mr. Antonio Timbana acted as a Programme Coordinator for Maputo City from June 2019 to June 2020 at HIVOS Foundation working for a project named Strong in Diversity, Bold on Inclusion promoting LGBT rights (SiDBoI) in which the focus was on social and economic well-being for LGBT people. The program was funded by DFID.
Mr. Antonio Timbana has 9 years of experience acting as Senior Program Officer at Pathfinder International working with national and international NGOs. He has experience in working with key populations for HIV programs such as CDC project, Hands Off and PITCH program. He also supervised health counsellors and peer educators and worked directly at provincial and national level doing lobby and advocacy for key populations rights.
Mr. Timbana has experience working with Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in providing support for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (Family Planning) including HIV, Gender Based Violence and Human Rights. He is also a member of national coalitions such as CECAP (coalition to end child marriage in Mozambique) - member of Girls Not Brides in Mozambique, and PLASOC – M (Plataforma de Sociedade Civil para Saúde em Moçambique) a national platform for health and human rights.
Mr. Timbana has experience in social research issues related to sexual diversity, public health, urban settlements and physical planning. Mr. Timbana is strong and mission oriented to build and strengthen capacity among Civil Society Organizations and support the national health system guidelines and gender strategy in Mozambique.
