You are invited to a workshop!
The world now hosts the largest generation of young people with 1.8 billion aged 10-24. Sexuality education is key to empower young people and give them the opportunity to make important decisions about their bodies, their health and their future. This is important not only for young people themselves but also for their families, their communities and our society. However, sexuality education remains largely unavailable for many of them, with devastating results.
IPPF EN and EWL would like to invite members of your network to a participative workshop gathering young people and EU policy-makers to reflect on the linkages between sexuality education and sustainable development. The workshop will start with a briefing (45mn) for young people attending on sexuality education, sustainable development and the EU development cooperation policy. The participative session with EU policy-makers (1:30hr) will then be geared towards proposing solutions and steps for better upholding sexuality education in EU development cooperation policy.
The workshop will take place on Monday 10/10, 9-11:30 am, at BIP (2-4 rue Royale, 1000 Brussels).
We believe it is important to provide opportunities for young people themselves to exchange on this topic with their policy-makers, and we hope that members of your network can join us on this occasion.
Registration will be made on a first come, first served basis – places are limited! To register, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This event takes place during the European Week of Action for Girls (EWAG), a collective yearly week-long civil society initiative in Brussels organized around the International Day of the Girl Child (October 11th). This year, EWAG’s theme is “Girls Count: Ideas + Investments = Impact”.
