We are pleased to invite you to the interactive seminar “Data-driven insights to fight the conservative backlash on SRHR” in Amsterdam on the 24th of September from 14.00 to 16.30 in Glocalities International, Marnixkade 109F, 1015 ZL Amsterdam.
During our meeting “SRHR messaging in changing times” last year November we discussed the need to develop new SRHR narratives and frames to convince swayable groups in society of our important messages on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. To further develop this line of thinking we have contacted global research agency Glocalities (formerly part of Motivaction) who has been working on this topic for the last two years. Glocalities has conducted a global survey in over 27 countries into SRHR attitudes, framing and narratives to help local activist and NGOs shift the debate in their countries.
During the event Glocalities researchers will present some of the insights they gained and offer new inspirational ways to develop SRHR communication messages to ‘Mobilize’ and ‘Convince’ target audiences (applying framing techniques by prof. George Lakoff). The event will also include a short exercise to translate data-findings into effective messages and frames. After the event there is an opportunity for one-on-one discussion with the researchers, who are currently preparing their next wave of global fieldwork (which will again include some SRHR related questions, and offers a possibility for NGOs to run their own questions).
For more background information you can read the interview with SRHR researcher Anne Blanksma which was published before on Share-Net website.
Via this link you can also fill in a small survey to find out your own values profile. The results of this survey will be shared during the seminar on group level, the results will not be used for any other purpose than this meeting.
Please, RVSP before the 19th of September by using this link and share with your colleagues. In case you cannot attend the seminar due to unexpected circumstances, we would kindly ask you to let us know in advance.
