Engaging boys and men in promoting gender equality: New research findings from Ethiopia and Nepal

A panel of three researchers who have recently returned from collecting data in Ethiopia and Nepal will present some of their key preliminary findings. The three pieces of research explore the roles of men and boys in (preventing) early marriage, taking different angles to explore: 1) How engaging men and boys in programs affects their ideas of gender equality in relationships, 2) How (changing) understandings of masculinities affect expectations of responsibilities in (early) marriage, and 3) How boys and young men experience early marriage themselves. The presentations will be followed by a discussion with the audience.
