Lecture Series on Child Marriage – How can young people benefit from economic empowerment?

September 17, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Lecture Series

It is with pleasure that Girls Not Brides the Netherlands and Share-Net International invite you to this year’s fourth Lecture Series on Child Marriage. The event will take place on the 17th of September from 15.00 – 17.00 hours at Save the Children in The Hague.

Join us in a session that will consist of short presentations on different approaches towards (youth) economic empowerment enabling us to learn about different key principles and what works well in different contexts. Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion that will take us into considering how to give young people future perspectives other than marriage and pregnancy. We will close by inviting the audience to ask their questions and/or place their remarks. After the session there will be drinks and the opportunity to network.

Two of the speakers will be Irene Diaz Soto, from Save the Children and Miet Chielens from The Hunger Project. The session will be moderated by Evelijne Bruning, from The Hunger Project.

Registration

Places are limited! RVSP before the 10th of September by using this link and share with your colleagues. In case you cannot attend due to unexpected circumstances, we would kindly ask you to let us know a week before the event. In this way we can give your place to people on the waiting list.
