It is with pleasure that Girls Not Brides the Netherlands and Share-Net invite you to this year’s first Lecture Series on child marriage. This lecture will take place on the 19th of February 2018 in Amsterdam.
A panel of three researchers who have recently returned from collecting data in Ethiopia, Nepal and Pakistan will present preliminary research findings. The three pieces of research explore the roles of men and boys in (preventing) early marriage, taking different angles to explore:
1) How engaging men and boys in programs affects their ideas of gender equality in relationships,
2) How (changing) understandings of masculinities affect expectations of responsibilities in (early) marriage, and
3) How boys and young men experience early marriage themselves.
The presentations will be followed by a discussion with the audience.
