Share-Net Netherlands kindly invites you for a debriefing on the 52nd session of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) and a forward look into the International Conference on Population and Development +25 (ICPD) Nairobi Summit. The meeting will take place on the 11th of April, from 10.00 to 12.00 in Humanity Hub in Den Haag.
The fifty-second session of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 1 to 5 April 2019. The theme for this year’s session is “Review and appraisal of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and its contribution to the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
During the first part of the meeting, Arthur Erken, Director Communications and Strategic Partnerships at UNFPA will join Share-Net members and share his insights . Members will share their highlights of the CDP session.
In addition, in light of 25 years of the ICPD after Cairo, the Government of the Republic of Kenya and UNFPA are organising a high-level conference to advance the implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action. The Nairobi Summit on ICPD25: Accelerating the promise will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 12-15 November, 2019. During the second part our meeting, we will look forward to and strategise toward this high level meeting.
