On behalf of Sally Pairman, the ICM Chief Executive, we are delighted to welcome you to attend the 31st ICM Triennial Congress in Toronto, Canada. This congress represents and works to strengthen professional associations of midwives throughout the world. With 130 Midwives Associations, representing 114 countries across every continent, we have much to celebrate!
The highly topical and relevant theme for the 2017 Congress is “Midwives – Making a Difference in the World”. We have reached a time when attention turns to ‘what next’ after the 2015 Millennium Development Goals. As new global initiatives are being developed, one strong message emerges from the 2011 and the 2014 State of World Midwifery Reports and that is ‘midwives do make a difference’ in saving the lives of women and newborns and promoting good health.
The International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) supports, represents and works to strengthen professional associations of midwives throughout the world. There are currently 116 Midwives Associations, representing 102 countries across every continent. ICM is organised into four regions: Africa, the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe. Together these associations represent more than 300,000 midwives globally.
All fees are in Canadian dollars.
