Advancing Learning and Innovation on Gender Norms Platform

Advancing Learning and Innovation on Gender Norms seeks to advance understanding and challenge and change harmful gender norms by connecting a global community of researchers and thought leaders committed to equality for adolescents and young adults. Through the sharing of information and the facilitation of mutual learning, ALIGN aims to ensure knowledge on norm change contributes to sustainable gender justice.

This digital platform, which is under development, contains curated knowledge and key resources on gender norms theory, research methodologies, interventions and innovations. Over time, we plan to grow the platform to create a members space for the Community of Practice working on gender norms with features such as webinars and forums, and publish new knowledge on innovative ways to address and measure gender norms in the Global South and North.

We are pleased to announce the ALIGN Project is now accepting proposals for its Flexible Research Fund.

The ALIGN Flexible Research Fund will be used to identify innovative research, interventions and knowledge, to make it possible to understand and address discriminatory gender norms that affect the lives of adolescents and young adults. The fund is intended to respond to knowledge gaps and enable knowledge generation and the translation of research and knowledge on gender norms to inform policy and practice outputs.

The first round of funding is now open for applications for small projects of up to £15,000. Interested parties should download the Terms of Reference document (see below) which contains information of eligibility, the application process and evaluation criteria. Applicants should fill in both the Fund Application Form and Application Budget to be considered.

Applications close on January 15th after which they will be reviewed by an independent panel. Successful applicants will be notified by 28 February 2018.
