Masters programmes at KIT

Our master’s programmes equip health professionals to address public health challenges around the world. They are known for their practical applicability, their multidisciplinary approach, and the interactive, participatory training methods. 
Follow the links for more information, and apply directly through our online application system to assure your place in 2018! 
The MPH programme is eligible for scholarships from the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP), former NFP scholarships. Application deadline OKP: March 2018 (exact date not yet known). Make sure to apply first to KIT for academic admission. The OKP regulations and list of eligible countries are not yet final. We are happy to inform you of a number of upcoming short courses on wide range of topics. These courses can be taken as a stand-alone course or as part of one of our Masters programmes.


Courses on Health Systems Strengthening
  • Qualitative Methods in Health Systems Research
    Course dates: 23 January – 8 February 2018

    This course discusses which methods to use to answer different health system research questions. You will gain experience in each step of the research process and develop your own research proposal. 

  • Human Resources for Health
    Course dates: 26 February – 9 March 2018

    This course provides knowledge and skills that health care managers, policy makers and planners need for human resource management. It discusses strategies at country and workplace level to address health workforce issues.

  • Health Policy and Financing
    Course dates: 14 – 30 May 2018

    An in-depth look at important issues and current debates in health policy, health economics and health financing, taking into account the diverse profit and not for profit systems.

  • Monitoring and Evaluation in a dynamic health environment (M&E)
    Course dates: 20 – 31 August 2018

    ATTENTION: Eligible for OKP (former NFP) scholarship. Read more below.

    This course will provide participatnts with a deeper understanding of the role that M&E plays in all aspects of the health system, and with a broad range of tools and methods to be used in the health sector in developing countries. 

  • Analysing Disrupted Health Systems in Countries in Crisis
    Course dates: 20 – 31 August 2018

    ATTENTION: Eligible for OKP (former NFP) scholarship. Read more below.

    This course focuses on the analysis of health systems in countries affected by, or recovering from, protracted crisis. It is organised jointly with the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Save the Children, and the World Health Organisation (WHO).

  • (E-learning) Rebuilding Disrupted Health Systems – developing context-specific strategies for health care policies, implementation and governance
    Course dates: 2 April- 11 May 2018.

Scholarships Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP)
Upcoming application period: Winter 2018

For the following programmes there are scholarships available from the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP), former NFP programme. 
The rules and regulations are still under evaluation so keep an eye on our website for more information.

IMPORTANT: The OKP regulations for this upcoming deadline have changed. The number of countries eligible for an OKP scholarship are under revision at the moment. We expect more information in January 2018.
If you are from one of the 52 former NFP countries or 28 OKP countries (for short courses from the recent October deadline), we advise you to already submit your application for academic admission to the course of your choice to KIT Royal Tropical Institute. We can then inform you directly on updates on the new regulations.
