Job Purpose – Director Advocacy
To lead IPPF’s advocacy, ensuring that a strategic, integrated approach to global, regional and national advocacy maximises success in delivering on the outcomes and deliverables of the IPPF Strategic Framework 2016-2022.

Empowering the most vulnerable women, men and young people in over 170 countries to access life-saving services and programmes and to live with dignity, the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and its 30,000 staff, along with millions of volunteers, campaign for sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and deliver education and services through 65,000 service points.
In pursuit of our aim to improve quality of life and ensure all people’s right to enjoy sexual lives free from ill health, unwanted pregnancy, violence and discrimination, we are very excited to be recruiting for a Director, Advocacy, to lead IPPF’s Advocacy work.
Educated to degree level in a related field, you have had significant exposure of multi-level advocacy and built a strong understanding of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) within the international and development sector. You will have worked in complex organisations dealing with a breadth of fast-changing and controversial issues including supporting NGOs or partners to drive change at national level. You will understand the challenges including capacity building needs of national organisations.
You will travel internationally, leading strategy across the Federation and be competent in managing a professional Advocacy team. You have excellent networking and influencing skills and have highly developed political acumen. An exceptional communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to represent IPPF at the highest level. Fluent English is essential and a working knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic desirable.
Additionally, you will have financial management skills, be technology literate and have an awareness of and sensitivity to the multi-cultural environment in which IPPF operates.
